Pajarillo evoca el canto recio y el sonido de arpa, cuatro y maracas de la música de los llanos colombo-venezolanos. Esta pieza ejemplifica características del pajarillo tradicional, tales como el pedal sobre la dominante al inicio de la melodía y estructuras de acompañamiento del arpa y el cuatro orquestadas en distintas secciones de la banda.
Pajarillo evokes the canto recio (singing) of the llaneros and the sound of harp, cuatro and maracas from the music of the Colombian-Venezuelan plains (known as Los Llanos). This piece exemplifies traditional characteristics of the pajarillo, such as the pedal over the dominant at the beginning of the melody and accompanying figures from the harp and cuatro which have been orchestrated in different sections of the band.
