El huayno es un género musical y baile representativo de los Andes peruanos y bolivianos. Habitualmente es interpretado con quena, charango, guitarras y percusiones, entre otros instrumentos, pero al igual que en otros países de Latinoamérica, la banda de música apropió y enriqueció la música tradicional de su contexto, siendo frecuente encontrar bandas en distintos pueblos de la región interpretando huaynos, cantando, haciendo coreografías y animando la fiesta popular. Es un viaje que conduce a la cultura ancestral de las altas cumbres de la cordillera de los Andes; segmentos nostálgicos se combinan con aquellos de ambiente festivo, evocando el sonido de quenas, charangos y las bandas típicas de Perú y Bolivia.
Huayno is a distinctive dance and musical genre from the Peruvian and Bolivian Andes. It is usually played with quena, charango, guitar and percussion, among other instruments, but like in other Latin American countries, the wind band has appropriated and enriched the traditional music of its context being frequent to find ensembles playing, singing and dancing huaynos while enlivening festivities in different towns throughout the region. It is a journey to the ancient culture from the high peaks of the Andes; nostalgic and festive segments are combined, evoking the sound of quena, charango and the typical bands of Peru and Bolivia.
