Considerado como originario de Trinidad y Tobago, soca es un género musical con gran influencia en las Antillas Menores. Posee fuerte ascendencia afro y, junto con el calipso, sus letras en inglés caribeño y francés abarcan desde contenido social hasta el erotismo. Esta pieza explora en la vitalidad rítmica del soca y el ambiente festivo de las islas caribeñas agregando una variante rítmica en la percusión conocida como pambiche en la música dominicana. It has strong African descent and, together with calypso, its lyrics range from social to erotic content. This piece explores rhythmic vitality typical of the soca as well as the festive atmosphere from the Caribbean islands, adding a rhythmic variant in the percussion section known as pambiche in Dominican music. Soca moves to the freedom of the sea horizon and fresh breeze in the Caribbean.
